The 2017 Civic Type R will be equipped with a 2.0-litre engine pushing out 316bhp through the front wheels. The new models unveiling confirmed that the car remained largely unchanged from the stunning concept unveil in late 2016.

As cars progress from being a concept to the final production spec, certain crazier aspects can be lost as car maker’s tone down an insane concept in order to make their new model legal and actually sellable across the worldwide markets.

Honda somehow managed to keep all of the crazier aspects of the concept car and push them through into the production model, one of the standouts is the insane treble tailpipe setup. Now, Honda has given us a taste of the soundtrack that this system produces and it’s epic.

Proving that the treble exhaust setup is not just for show, Honda has given us this clip that confirms that the new Civic Type R will sound as good as it looks:

Just listen to it; somehow they have made the 2.0-litre four cylinder engine sound like a Jaguar V8 at full chat. All of this somehow comes in a five-door, everyday useable, practical hatchback.

The super hatch segment just got a whole lot better sounding………….
