The excellent Fiat 124 drop-top could soon get a solid roofed coupe sibling shortly if the rumours are to be believed.

According to Autocar, a Fiat 124 Coupe is in is in development and could potentially be more powerful than the Fiat 124 Spider. The all-new rear-wheel-drive Coupe could be fitted with the Abarth Spider’s 1.4-litre turbo engine, which delivers a swift 178 horsepower.

These renders have shown up online with a potentially look for the new 124 Coupe:

The 124 Coupe will not use the retractable hard-top from its sister car the Mazda MX-5 RF, this all-new Fiat will be designed as a coupe from the wheels up to be a stand-alone model separate from  the 124 from its closely related MX-5 cousin.

If these reports are true, Fiat is aiming to push this all-new 124 Coupe as a performance-positioned two-seater, anything that gives a more powerful and even more prettier Fiat 124 is very good news
