The Toyota GT86 is a rarity amongst the car makers current line up, amongst the blandness is a great modern sports car that has DNA from prior generations of classic high performance Toyota’s, from the rear wheel drive set-up to the handling brilliance. This means that it was the perfect base for a GT86 based tribute to some of the great race and rally cars that Toyota has created in the last 50 years, to celebrate this history a total of six GT86 has been modified to faithfully recreate classic racing liveries and retro styling details.

Every single GT86 has been inspired by a different model. They include two recreations of Toyota’s original sports car, the 2000GT, and Ove Andersson’s 1970s Celica 1600GT rally car no less. This was the machine that helped inspire Toyota to launch a full international motorsports program after the rally success it yielded.
