The 911R is the latest limited run supercar from Porsche celebrating their rich heritage. Featuring a normally aspirated 4.0 litre flat six engine producing a formidable 493bhp and 384ib ft of torque, which is put to the road via the honest goodness of a six speed manual gearbox, you get retro styled brown and check finish race seats and you can even delete the air con and sound system if you’re a bit mad.

All 991 units have been sold and if you want one you could only choose from a select few colours, white or silver with adorning red or green stripes, that’s your lot, no further choices to be made.

Until now that is, via the excellent Instagram of ‘club911r’ and ‘carshotsnl’ a couple of 911R’s have been produced in custom colours from the factory.

Lava Orange without stripes delivered in the Netherlands:

Black with red stripes delivered in Germany:

Here we go. The first known Black 911 R just delivered to a German customer in Zuffenhausen recently. Black, along with Racing Yellow and Lava Orange, are the Special Colors, or “sonderfarbe”, that were available for select few customers with 911 R allocations. This particular example still has the available side stripes for the 911 R in black – very faintly noticeable but the matte finish does contrast subtly against the black paint. Thanks to many people for giving me the heads up on this car! 📸: David H. Finkelstein via Porsche Cayman GT4 Group (Facebook) | Follow @club911r for the latest on the newest Porsche 911 R’s.
