The world has been deprived of a Ford Mondeo ST since the end of the 2nd-gen model back in 2007, thankfully Ford has decided to give us a new one in the form of the new Mondeo ST-Line model, which has been unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
As the UK car market has clearly changed a great deal since 2007, the old 3.0 V-6 motor or anything similar is unavailable or it was simply was not an option, the most powerful option, therefore, is the excellent 178bhp 2.0-litre diesel motor, the 0-62 dash is done with in a strong 8.3 seconds and this a claimed MPG of 62.8 to the gallon.
The Mondeo ST-Line features a 10mm drop in the suspension department via a sportier set-up, at the front you get revised styling to set it apart from the standard car in the form of honeycomb grille, a generous amount of black detailing on the bodywork and an all round more aggressive look finished by optional 19inch wheels. You can even spec the Mondeo ST-Line with an automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive should you want to.
The overall changes when set against the standard car make the Mondeo ST-Line look more aggressive and sporty setting it apart from the lesser models.
Now Ford, if you can please give us a genuine ST model with the 2.3 EcoBoost engine please, oh and can we please also have it with all wheel drive and 345bhp as well, this will make the world a happier place for sure.
