A few days ago, we told you about the fact that all of our hopes and dreams would be shattered by the fact that a BMW M3 Touring was unlikely to be built. I admit to falling love with this car that simply will not exist, a 431 horsepower 406 lb-ft of torque family car with a labrador and small child scaring ability to pull 100mph tyre smoking drifts while visiting the in-laws on weekends.
Well known Rendering artist Theophilus Chin also went right ahead and produced a couple of stunning images presenting the visual potential of such a model.
Despite the fact that both Audi and Mercedes produce estate/avant variants of both the RS4 & the C63, a BMW official has made a statement sadly denying that an M3 touring will ever be built. Speaking to Autovisie, M development chief Carsten Pries stated that an estate car as powerful as this would not have a wide enough appeal for BMW to consider greenlighting it for production.
Audi RS4 and Mercedes C63 AMG
This is indeed very sad news for all of us that yearned after such a car, it’s good news for all of the potentially mentally scarred children and Labradors that won’t have to suffer a powerslide in one.
A sad day indeed.
