When thinking of the Porsche Panamera, certain words may spring to mind such as ‘minger’ or ‘hideous’, not anymore as the all new 2017 Porsche Panamera is a stunningly magnificent thing of beauty and technical awesomeness.

Officially unveiled in Berlin last night, various numbers and stats were revealed to confirm that along with the stunning new looks a massive dose of mind bendingly fast speed and agility is included as well.

The model range starts out with the 4S model, priced at a reasonable £88,700.00 base price, the new model features a smaller more efficient powerplant in the form of a 2.9 litre V-6, this motor has been fettled with the thankful addition of two small, mid-mounted turbochargers which produce 440 hp (20 hp more than the previous model), all of the wonderful horsepower peaks at 5,650 rpm. The 4S also delivers a whopping 550 Nm of torque (30 Nm more than the previous gen) at 1,750 and 5,500 rpm, essentially giving the car a ton of low down grunt.

The 2017 Panamera 4S can reach 62 mph in 4.4 seconds (reduced to 4.2 seconds with the Sports Chrono Package, which you are going to want) onto a top speed is 180 mph. The fuel consumption is 34.4 – 34.8 mpg  while producing a reasonable figure of 186 – 184 g/km CO2.

In addition to this ‘base’ model the Panamera range gets a new V-8 diesel engine, for the first time ever with the Porsche all-wheel drive set-up. This motor is the most powerful diesel engine ever to grace a Porsche production car, the power output is a massive 422 hp (peaking at 3,500 rpm) and a huge amount of torque topping at a massive 850 NM, all of this torque is constant over the rev-range from 1,000 to 3,250 rpm.

All of this power and torque propels the 4S diesel to 177 mph, making the Porsche Panamera 4S Diesel the world’s fastest production vehicle with a diesel engine. The 0-62 mph dash is completed in a mere 4.5 seconds (4.3 seconds with the Sports Chrono Package, which again you are going to want). All these numbers produce a combined fuel consumption of 41.5 – 42.1 mpg with emissions numbers of178 – 176 g/km CO2. Prices start for the 4S diesel at £91,788.00.

Then we get to the mighty top of the range model the Turbo, powered by a 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8. 550 horsepower, 770 Nm of torque, again the motor delivers maximum torque from 1960 rpm to 4500rpm, all of this power is channelled to the all-wheel drive system via a new eight-speed PDK gearbox.

All of this power and fury propels the Turbo to 62mph in 3.8 seconds, however, we are betting that with the advanced launch control system that the Turbo S will be far closer to the 3.0-second mark than advertised.

The 2017 Panamera also features a heavily revised interior with no less than three screens in the interior. The first is a 12.3-inch screen, with 7-inch displays on either side. Porsche is clearly at the top marques with the 2017 Panamera judging by the quality and tech on display here.

The looks of the new Panamera are gorgeous, this time around Porsche have again been as lazy as ever with the re-design but have done an amazing job of making the big Porka a rival in the looks stakes to Maserati and Tesla with ease.

Now revel in the gorgeousness that is the new 2017 Porsche Panamera:
