Fresh after claiming victory at the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans, Porsche posted a picture on its hugely popular Facebook page teasing us with a brand model shown under a cover no less.
There are no details contained within the post at all, literally nada, nothing, nowt. Yes I hear you say what was the point of showing us this and then giving us practically nothing at all.

The only details we get is the title stating ‘Mission: Future Sportscar.’ The only details we can make out are that the car has a short bonnet meaning that it should as be rear engined like all decent Porsches should be, flared arches are also visible but aside from that details are scarce.

If this car is in fact a new model then it could potentially be Porsches long rumoured rival to challenge the likes of the Ferrari 488 GTB and the McLaren 650S sitting above the 911 in the pecking order.

Such rumours exist of a mid- engine layout, turbocharging and an all new aluminium chassis setup, however I’d still be betting on a rear engined rear drive layout at this point.

Development cycle dependant this car could break cover in late 2015, early 2016 with a 2017 debut at Geneva.
