Making sure you’re sitting down, the new Lamborghini Centenio Roadster is here and it’s utterly amazing. Breaking cover today at Pebble Beach, the Centenio Roadster is limited to 20 examples only, Lamborghini for some reason call it a one-off, perhaps because the PR people are as bonkers as this car.
If you want well then you’re out of luck, they are all sold. Reports vary, but if you were lucky enough to get one, it would have cost you a cool $2.3 million.
The Centenio Roadster features an all carbon-fibre body and its underpinnings are clearly taken from the Aventador, but as you may suspect, it’s so much more car than its ‘standard’ sibling. The Centenio Roadster produces massive horsepower to match the price tag, 759 horsepower to be exactly. The 6.5-litre V12 motor now redlines at 8.600rpm which is up from the paltry 8,350rpm that came before it.
The usual seven-speed sequential manual gearbox does the difficult job of getting all of those 759 rampaging horsepowers to all four of the wheels, for reasons which I cannot confirm the Centenio Roadster also features four-wheel steering.
The Centenario Roadster races from 0-62 miles per hour in very swift 2.9 seconds. Thankfully it can lose all this speed in a distance of 98 feet. 0–124 mph takes an even swifter 8.6 seconds. 0–186 mph is dispensed with is an even swifter 23.5 secs. Top speed is a fairly relaxing 217mph.
The car is painted in all-new matte silver called “Argento Centenario”, no idea what this means but it looks fantastic.
If you take a long look at the pictures you will notice an air channel between the headrests, this is designed to improve air flow and cut down on wind noise, this will be useful at 217mph for certain.
Now, sit back and stare longingly at the Lamborghini Centenio Roadster pictures, when you come back to reality you may well have to go and lie down in a darkened room to recover, in fact, that is what I am going to do right now.
