Jaguar XE SV Project 8 Reviews

Say hello to the Jaguar XE SV, this is a weapons-grade insane version of the XE. Why? You may ask, well, for starters, there are no half measures with this car. Under the bonnet is a 592bhp 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 motor.

Yes, that’s right a 592bhp V8 in an XE, making it one of the most powerful cars ever produced by the Coventry based carmaker. When you compare this to the current crop of similarly sized saloons the XE has them well and truly licked. The BMW M3 Competition has to make do with only 444bhp from a straight-six twin turbo motor.

The XE SV Project 8 is the second car from Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations – the first being the insane F-Type Project 7 – all of the 300 examples of the XE SV will be hand-built at the SVO technical center in Coventry.

Other than confirming that the XE SV has enough power to rival the likes of the BMW M5 and the Mercedes AMG E63, Jaguar has been a bit light on the details side of things. From the press release pictures, you can clearly see that the XE SV means business with the massive rear wing and assorted aero additions to the car.

What Jaguar did confirm was that the car has been tested at the Nurburgring, so perhaps a record is in the offing. Expect more to be revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed where the car will make its official public bow.
