When is a Mercedes S63 Cabrio with a 5.5 litre V-8 engine producing 577bhp simply, well, not enough?
When your German super Mercedes tuner Brabus that’s when. Brabus have taken big drop-top and ‘Brabused’ it until it overshadows the base car in every way possible, now renamed the ‘Brabus 850 6.0’ of all the catchy names, the revised car now produces a whopping 838bhp being delivered to all four wheels, the torque rating has also obviously increased to an even more whopping 1069ib ft which is quite a lot if we are being honest.
The original crankshaft, pistons, rods and cylinder head were thrown in the bin and replaced forged items and a revised cylinder head, the 5.5-litre engine now features 6.0 litres of displacement thanks to this major re-work.
Naturally all this work and increased power results in a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds, down from 4.4 seconds in the standard car, the top speed is increased to…..wait for it, 217mph. This makes this Brabus, the world’s fastest production convertible car.
No word from Brabus on whether you can achieve this top speed with the roof down, given that the car has a soft top hood I’d say no chance, clearly the roof on this thing is going to have a tough job hanging around at those speeds, just like Donald Trumps hair in a slight breeze.
The price, likely to be very expensive but if you have a mountain lair and many bodyguards then you can afford one.
