The all new Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio made its official UK debut at this past weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, alongside this Alfa Romeo UK have announced the UK specs and pricing for the stunning looking M3 rivalling Giulia.
The spec includes such highlights as 19-inch alloy wheels, an eight-speed automatic transmission is your only choice of gearbox, it does also come with paddle shifters which may help to soothe the purists anger at a manual not being available, the Giulia also features active aerodynamics, active suspension, bi-xenon headlamps, sports seats and Alfa Romeo’s latest Uconnect 3D Nav infotainment system as standard.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio features a weapons grade all-new 2.9-litre Bi-Turbo V6 engine, producing a staggering 510hp and 600Nm of torque, all this wonderful power and torques propels you to 62mph from standing in an even more staggering 3.9 seconds which will carry on to an insane figure of 190mph.
All of these numbers come with a matching price tag starting at £59,000, when pitted against its nearest rival the M3 the level of kit and speed stats do match up nicely, given that the car has undergone extensive development resulting in perfect 50/50 weight distribution across its axles helped by a strong power to weight ratio thanks to the use of high-strength and ultra-lightweight materials including, carbon fibre driveshaft, aluminium composite and plastic for the rear cross member and aluminium for the doors, wings, and engine construction.
In addition to this hardcore spec the Giulia Quadrifoglio goes even further featuring a carbon fibre bonnet, roof, front splitter, rear spoiler and body inserts, The braking system has beefed up with the use of aluminium construction, if you’re feeling rich you can also spec the Quadrifoglio with carbon ceramic brake discs and front seats with a carbon fibre construction.
All of these elements combined go some way to making the Giulia Quadrifoglio a genuine M3 rival and then some, now Alfa can we please have the manual gearbox option as it would make us so very happy…….
