Abu Dhabi and Dubai are well-known for being full of HyperCars and long winding open roads, so how do you police all of these billionaires and get them to comply with local traffic laws when the cars they drive can achieve speeds that are simply unobtainable by a normal police car.
You fight fire with fire by getting yourself a fleet of HyperCars to ensure the billionaires play by the rules. Cars included in the police fleets of the Gulf States include a Bugatti Veyron, a Ferrari FF, a BMW i8 and even a Rolls-Royce Phantom (not sure why a Phantom!).
When the world’s police forces look on with jealously by simply making do with BMW 5 series diesel things just get better and better for the rather privileged police force of Abu Dhabi, as in they have taken things to a whole new level.
The Abu Dhabi Police have now officially taken delivery of a $3.4 million Lykan Hypersport to add to their already formidable fleet of police cars.
For those of you that are into numbers the Lykan hits 60 mph in a super quick 2.8 seconds while going onto a top speed of 240 mph. For those of you trying to think about how quick 2.8 seconds is, it’s taken you 3 times that amount of time to read this paragraph.
The Lykan Hypersport was most recently seen in the 7th instalment of the Fast & the Furious franchise see funnily enough jumping from building to building. Let’s hope no locals in Abu Dhabi are crazy enough to try to get away from this police car.
